Ben has produced a fabulous Monks Bench for our house in Litton. We had a difficult space on the side wall of our entry hall and Ben has built the perfect piece to have a sit down and remove our boots. It also has plenty of double hooks to hang our coats and hats and we are making good use of them. The piece is a lovely combination of painted and natural timber finishes and we’ve had numerous compliments on it from everyone who walks through our front door. The proportions and execution of this piece of furniture are perfect and we would recommend a similar piece to anyone who needs a suitable arrangement.

A few years ago, we had the vision of creating another living space. We knew that we had the whole of our loft space completely untouched. We embarked on the first stage and asked a local builder to put in a large loft hatch, some velux windows, insulation and flooring. Their job was then complete and it was our intention to complete the loft.
We quickly realised that we had some ideas but we just didn’t have the time. This is where Ben came in. Ben came to look at the loft space and he was rapidly filled with ideas from how to cover the ceiling in wooden panels, how to make a feature of a raised floor area to ensuring a super cool and safe entrance to the loft using steel tubing.
Once Ben set to work he quickly realised that nothing was straight or level (the house was built in 1860) so he had lots of ‘niggles’ to work through but he always worked to the highest standard and managed to ‘straighten up’ or at least give that illusion! This was where a simple job tended to turn into a huge task. Ben just got on with it though.
We had original beams and Ben worked hard to restore them to their natural beauty by painstakingly sanding and oiling them. We also wanted to use the brick and stonework on either wall as a feature and again Ben spent time cleaning the walls and sealing them – he also managed to fill little holes by finding similar stone and pointing them into the wall. This was a dirty and difficult job and again he achieved this to a very high standard.
It was purely down to Ben’s ideas, attention to detail and determination (at some points) to get the job finished. The whole job was completed to an excellent standard and we wouldn’t change a single thing.

It’s not every day a customer asks you to make pencil planters and pencil sharpener doorstops!
Ben was not at all fazed by my request for a very large Pencil shaped planter for outside my stationery shop. Ben rose to the challenge, creating this magnificent wooden pencil planter.
He designed and built it to a very high standard and it looks absolutely amazing. Ben is extremely thorough, even checking my measurements and coming over a few weeks later to touch up the paintwork after the wood had settled.
His attention to detail and passion for his craft are admirable. And I think you’ll agree the results are fabulous. I have been very impressed with Ben and would wholeheartedly recommend him.

Ben has just completed a lovely timber utility building for us. Hand built on site, fully insulated and double glazed. We are absolutely over the moon with it. I recently had 2 amazing garden planters delivered and levelled by Ben. They were with me less than 2 weeks from ordering. So so pleased with them. Beautifully made and very sturdy. Ben even told me exactly how much compost I’d need and had lined them for me. They’re almost planted. Waiting for the warmer temperatures!!
Last year he also made me a lovely oak school style bench which is lovely. With the addition of a black paw print!

Ben made two memorial benches and a raised flower bed from old sleepers for our village green and installed them on possibly one of the hottest days over the summer! Since they’ve been installed they have been commented on by locals and tourists.

Our wooden table had been damaged by a cup of juice which we had made 10x worse by trying to get it out! (thanks google) Now what was left was a big white cup mark. Fearing we had damaged it forever 
Cue Ben to the rescue! Ben was a great help giving us lots of advice and even contacting the company we bought it from to make sure he got the colour just right.
In the end Ben used some traditional methods he had up his sleeve and managed to return it back to its normal colour in no time. He is certainly an expert in his field and I couldn’t recommend him and his company enough

We first met Ben at a farmers market where I fell in love with his Derbyshire bench. I’ve since bought two, two arm chairs and a big table. They look fabulous together. We have since commissioned him to make our garden troughs which go around the outside of our house. We wanted them made out of Larch and he actually sourced the trees for us. It’s a beautiful job! He also made me two gin and tonic tables.
